Goals from Massimo Gobbi, Jaime Valdes and Ishak Befodil give Parma a 3-1 win over Palermo in Serie A.

Goals from Massimo Gobbi, Jaime Valdes and Ishak Befodil have given Parma a 3-1 win over Palermo in Serie A this evening.

The away side took the lead seven minutes before the half-time interval when Gobbi fired Valdes's cross into the top corner of the net from outside the penalty area.

Valdes then doubled Parma's lead when he collected Befodil's pass before firing home from 12 yards.

Befodil then made it three when his right-footed shot from outside the area beat Francesco Benussi in the Palermo goal.

The home side came close to scoring midway through the second period when Giulio Sanseverino's 18-yard shot was saved by Antonio Mirante.

Palermo pulled a goal back with 15 minutes remaining through Fabrizio Miccoli's free kick, but they could find another goal and bow out of Serie A with a defeat.
