Norwich City manager Neil Adams hopes for Leroy Fer stay

Norwich City manager Neil Adams is eager to retain the services of Dutch international Leroy Fer.

Neil Adams has expressed his desire to keep Leroy Fer at Norwich City.

Following the club's relegation to the Championship, it had been reported that the Dutch international was a target of newly-promoted Premier League side Queens Park Rangers.

However, despite having conceded that interest has been shown in the 24-year-old, Adams is hopeful that he will still be a Norwich player come the end of the summer transfer window.

"I hope Leroy is still a Norwich player come the end of the window. The chief executive is fielding a lot of phone calls because we have good players here and when you are relegated you are at the mercy of the bigger clubs," Adams told the Eastern Daily Press.

"After the summer he has had and scoring in the World Cup finals, there is going to be interest. He is having a much needed rest now and hopefully we get him back and he is a Norwich player. Let's wait and see. I want to add players and I want them all here for the start of the season."

Fer joined Norwich from FC Twente last year for an undisclosed fee.
