Preview: Reading vs. Norwich City

Sports Mole previews the Championship clash between Norwich City and Reading at the Madejski Stadium.

Norwich City will be looking for their fourth win in five matches when they travel to the Madejski Stadium to face Reading in the Championship on Sunday.

The Canaries were in fine form on Boxing Day, cruising to a 6-1 victory over Millwall to leave them just outside the playoff places in the table.

Carlos Cuellar will need a late fitness test after limping off with a calf injury against the Lions, while Alex Tettey is also a doubt after sitting out the trip to The Den with a knee problem.

The team have confirmed that Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe and Javier Garrido will both miss out, but could return in the FA Cup in the New Year.

Norwich's players were booed by their own fans when they faced Reading earlier in the season after losing 2-1 at Carrow Road in a poor run for the Canaries.

Reading have been on a difficult run of their own over the last few weeks, with no wins from their last four matches, which recently resulted in the club parting company with Nigel Adkins.

New boss Steve Clarke almost secured his first win at the weekend, but the Royals gave away a late equaliser to draw 2-2 with Brighton & Hove Albion.

The manager will be optimistic that Garath McCleary will be available again after he picked up a knock in training on Christmas Day which kept him out of the Brighton match.

The fixture is likely to come too soon for Jem Karacan and Danny Guthrie, although the duo are both back in training as they near a return from respective knee and calf injuries.

Jamie Mackie, Anton Ferdinand, Hope Akpan and Pavel Pogrebnyak all remain long-term absentees for Sunday's hosts.

Reading sit 17th in the table ahead of this match, just six points clear of the relegation zone.
