Richard Scudamore wants evidence after match-fixing claims

Richard Scudamore insists that anyone who has information about possible match-fixing in English football should report it to the authorities.

Richard Scudamore has said that he wants anyone who has information relating to allegations of match-fixing to come forward.

The Premier League chief executive was responding to claims in The Telegraph that two matches in the top flight might have been fixed.

An Alderney-registered Irish-based betting website reportedly contacted the newspaper and claimed that there were two matches since 2000 that could have been fixed.

"This is an allegation of criminal acts. It is the most serious allegation that can be made about anyone involved in sport. It is about the most serious attack that can be made on sport," Scudamore is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"Anyone with allegations, information or evidence should report it to the police. There are processes in place through which they, the Gambling Commission and the Football Association are to act following receipt of such information.

"We would of course assist any such investigation."

On Friday it was revealed that two men charged with match-fixing will remain in police custody until December 13.
