Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore feels that the coming season will be the "most anticipated" one ever.

Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore has declared that the coming Premier League season is the most eagerly anticipated one ever.

The new season starts with four of last season's top six beginning the campaign with new managers, with champions Manchester United having a new boss for the first time in 27 years in the shape of David Moyes.

"Even before last season, we were talking about the inevitable changes [this season]," Scudamore told Sky Sports News.

"There's been four of the top six changing sides and it is the most anticipated season that I can remember. Nobody knows what the Premier League is going to be like without Alex Ferguson.

"The game is also about stardust, characters and talking points and you get all three with [new Chelsea manager] Jose Mourinho in spades don't you."

Scudamore also reserved a word for the implementation of goal-line technology this season, which will be known as the 'GDS' (Goal Decision System).

Scudamore added: "I'm excited by the change, it's something that we have tried to do for a long time and we just wants to enhance the integrity of the competition.

"There is nothing more fundamental than the ball going over the line, that is what the whole thing is built on."

The new season gets underway this Saturday.
