Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has reportedly rejected a £35m bid from AS Monaco for manager Jose Mourinho.
The Portuguese coach has come under fire following the Blues' poor start to their Premier League title defence this season, which sees them sitting 15th in the table following six defeats in 11 games.
Monaco shareholder Alessandro Proto claimed last week that the French club were keen to bring the former Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Porto boss to Stade Louis II.
According to the Daily Mail, Abramovich turned down a £35m approach from Monaco for Mourinho last Tuesday, but the Russian businessman could be interested if the offer is doubled.
Mourinho stated on Tuesday that he href="/football/chelsea/champions-league/news/mourinho-expects-to-fulfill-chelsea-contract_255629.html">expects to see out the remainder of his contract at Stamford Bridge, which runs until 2019.
Mourinho has lifted the Premier League and League Cup since returning for his second spell as Chelsea boss in 2013.
