Report: Newcastle United turn down Alexandre Pato

A report claims that Newcastle United have rejected the chance to sign Corinthians attacker Alexandre Pato, who has also been linked with Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal.

Newcastle United have reportedly rejected the chance to bring Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato to the club in this transfer window.

Pato, 26, currently represents Corinthians in his homeland, but is widely expected to depart for the Premier League this month.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea have all been linked with an £11m move for the former AC Milan striker, but it is not yet clear whether any of those clubs have launched a bid.

According to the Newcastle Evening Chronicle, Newcastle were offered the chance to bring the attacker to England, but the Magpies turned the proposal down.

Pato, who scored 63 times for AC Milan between 2007 and 2012, has 10 goals in 27 games for Brazil, but has not represented his national team since 2013.
