Dutch FA: 'No plans to replace Danny Blind with Ronald Koeman'

The Dutch Football Association insists that Southampton manager Ronald Koeman is not in line to replace Danny Blind as Netherlands boss.

The Dutch Football Association has insisted that Southampton manager Ronald Koeman is not in line to replace Danny Blind at the helm of the Netherlands.

Blind was appointed as boss of the Oranje in July but both of his games, against Iceland and Turkey, have ended in defeats.

Reports emerged that the 54-year-old was facing the sack, but a KNVB official told Sky Sports News: "Danny Blind is not facing the sack.

"He's only been our manager for two games. Despite losing both, we could still qualify for the European Championship finals.

"Blind signed a contract keeping him with us until the World Cup in 2018. Within that contract there is an agreement for him to meet the board of directors after the European qualification period."

Netherlands are now in a two-way fight with Turkey for a Euro 2016 qualifying playoff place in Group A.
