Dominic Oduro netted twice as Montreal Impact brushed past Columbus Crew in the MLS on Saturday.
The striker broke the deadlock after just five minutes when he latched on to a pass by Ignacio Piatti before rounding the goalkeeper and finishing it coolly.
Columbus fell further behind just three minutes later through Marco Donadel, who smashed the ball into the top corner with a swinging shot from 30 yards out.
The away side grew in confidence as the half went on, and almost brought themselves back into it when Justin Meram found Ethan Finlay near the goal, but his shot was saved by Evan Bush.
Tony Tchani also went close after the break with a curled effort which Bush acrobatically kept out, while Meram then hit the crossbar with a fierce strike.
However, Oduro confirmed the win late on when he was on hand to convert the rebound from Dilly Duka's blocked shot.
