Half-Time Report: Steven McDonald gives Boro the lead at half time

Middlesbrough lead Huddersfield 1-0 at half time in the Championship clash, thanks to a goal from Steven McDonald.

Half time at the Riverside Stadium sees Middlesbrough lead Huddersfield Town 1-0, thanks to a goal from Steven McDonald.

The wet and windy conditions played a huge part in the opening exchanges, with neither side taking control of the game.

Middlesbrough took the lead after 27 minutes, McDonald tapping in a cross into the box to make it 1-0.

The away side piled on the pressure in search of an equaliser, but could not find a way past a stubborn Boro defence.

Just before half time, Alex Smithies pulled off a fine save to keep out Peter Clarke, who nearly put it in his own net.

The whistle blew on the fist 45 minutes with Boro just about deserving their 1-0 lead.
