Rennes hold Marseille

Marseille extend their winless streak to six games in all competitions following a 1-1 stalemate away to Rennes.

Marseille have spurned the opportunity to move within two points of third place in Ligue 1 after being held to a 1-1 draw by Rennes.

With just nine minutes gone, Portuguese marksman Nelson Oliveira fired the hosts into a 1-0 lead at Stade de la Route de Lorient.

The lead would prove to be short-lived, though, as seven minutes later Elie Baup's men bagged an equaliser through Jordan Ayew.

Both teams struggled in their attempts to find a winner and the Champions League participants remain without a win in any of their last six fixtures in all competitions.

Marseille travel to Napoli on Wednesday for a clash in Europe's elite competition, before resuming domestic duties next weekend for the visit of Sochaux.
