The game was lively from the off, as the hosts earned themselves three corners in the first five minutes and saw no fewer than four different players take shots at goal.
It took Lille 24 minutes before they had their first chance, as Ryan Mendes blasted his shot high and wide of the target.
The visitors grew into the game as the minutes ticked by, but still found themselves a goal down when Nolan Roux bundled the ball into his own net just after the half-hour mark.

In the 61st minute, Lille pulled a goal back when Djibril Sidibe sent a ball the way of Idrissa Gueye, who duly slotted past Steve Mandanda into the bottom corner.
Nevertheless, the table toppers were back in the lead just eight minutes later as Batshuayi found space in the box before firing a powerful shot into the top corner.
Lille were not able to find another equaliser, leaving Marseille to see the game out and move three points clear of PSG.
