Former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke feels that the transfer saga involving Wayne Rooney is the perfect test of David Moyes's managerial skills.
The England international handed in a transfer request at the end of last season, according to former boss Sir Alex Ferguson, and has been linked with several clubs this summer.
Yorke told The Mirror: "Welcome to Man United; that is what it is all about. If he does not need that pressure and speculation and dealing with big egos, he should not be at the club.
"Wayne is a Manchester United player. There is always a speculation with Wazza and that is how it is when you are a big personality like him.
"Man United is about retaining the best players and Wazza is one of those. It would be a huge disappointment if he decided to leave."
Moyes replaced Sir Alex Ferguson as the end of last season after the Scot retired after 26 years in charge at Old Trafford.
