Manchester United 'to recall Tyler Blackett from Celtic loan'

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal will reportedly recall Tyler Blackett from his loan with Scottish champions Celtic six months early.

Manchester United are to recall Tyler Blackett from his loan with Celtic after injuries left them in need of cover at the back.

The 21-year-old, who can play at left-back or centre-back, originally joined the Scottish champions on a season-long deal but will be summoned back to Old Trafford six months ahead of schedule following injuries to Luke Shaw and Marcos Rojo.

According to the Daily Mail, the return of the England under-21s star will buy United some time in January as they look to bring in a new face at left-back.

Louis van Gaal's side have suffered four straight defeats in all competitions, conceding nine times in the process, to find themselves in sixth spot in the Premier League.
