Roma are reportedly ready to hand Kevin Strootman a new contract.
The Dutch international, who returned to training yesterday following a lengthy layoff with a knee injury, has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United.
However, the Serie A outfit are determined to retain the 24-year-old's services and will look to entice him into committing his future to the Stadio Olimpico by improving his salary, according to Il Messaggero.
Strootman joined Roma from PSV Eindhoven last summer.
