Roma owner James Pallotta has rubbished reports linking midfielder Kevin Strootman to Manchester United, insisting that the move is "just not happening".
The Dutchman has reportedly courted interest from United as manager Louis van Gaal looks to team up with the 24-year-old again following their time with the Netherlands.
"It is just not happening," Pallotta told BBC Sport.
"I have told the papers that they should stop wasting paper. We don't have any interest in selling Kevin."
Pallotta is just the latest Roma official to rule out a move, with club directors Walter Sabatini and Mauro Baldissoni both quashing rumours in recent weeks.
Strootman's contract in the Italian capital expires in 2018.
