Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata will reportedly be offered a new deal at Old Trafford after impressing manager Jose Mourinho.
The Spain international was expected to make way in the summer following the arrival of Mourinho, who offloaded Mata to United when in charge of Chelsea in 2014.
Mata has been given a chance to shine this term, however, and has since ousted skipper Wayne Rooney from the team in his preferred position just off the leading striker.
According to The Mirror, the 28-year-old - whose contract is due to expire next summer - will now pen a new four-year deal with the Red Devils in the coming weeks.
Full-back Timothy Fosu-Mensah is also understood to be in line for fresh terms at Old Trafford, despite his lack of playing time in the Premier League this season.
