Report: Pep Guardiola to target Aymeric Laporte

A report claims that current Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola will attempt to bring Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte to his next club in the summer of 2016.

Pep Guardiola will make Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte his prime transfer target when he arrives at his next club, according to a report.

The Spaniard will leave his post with Bayern Munich at the end of the season and has been strongly linked with the managerial role at Manchester City.

Manchester United are also said to be keen, however, and the pair, along with Chelsea, could battle for the former Barcelona boss this summer.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Guardiola will arrive at his next club with a clear transfer target in mind – Bilbao's highly-rated centre-back Laporte.

The France Under-21 international, who has a buy-out clause in the region of £37m, is contracted to his current club until 2019.

However, it is understood that Guardiola will instruct the board at his new club to activate the release clause of the powerful 21-year-old.
