Manchester United are understood to be ready to offer Tom Cleverley a new five-year contract.
The midfielder, 25, has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer following the arrival of Ander Herrera.
However, new manager Louis van Gaal is keen on extending the England international's stay with the club, according to Goal.com.
Cleverley, who came under plenty of criticism during United's disastrous campaign last season, was not included in the squad for Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Swansea City in the Premier League.
