Manchester United reportedly reach a full agreement to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Marcel Sabitzer on loan for the rest of the season.

Manchester United have reportedly reached a full agreement with Bayern Munich for the loan signing of Marcel Sabitzer.

Erik ten Hag's side were pressed into deadline-day transfer action after Christian Eriksen was ruled out for three months with the ankle injury he sustained in the FA Cup against Reading.

The Red Devils moved quickly to identify Sabitzer as an ideal stand-in, but Chelsea had also made contact with Bayern to discuss a possible move for the Austria international.

However, Fabrizio Romano now reports that Man United are on the verge of sealing Sabitzer's signature, and he will join the club on a straight loan with no option or obligation to buy.

Romano adds that Sabitzer has already agreed personal terms with Man United, who should finalise the details with Bayern in the coming hours.

Sabitzer was pictured at the airport preparing to make his move to Old Trafford earlier on Tuesday, and he will join Casemiro, Fred, Scott McTominay and Kobbie Mainoo in the engine room.

The 28-year-old left RB Leipzig in the summer of 2021 to sign for Bayern, but he has only scored two goals and set up two more in 54 appearances for the German champions since.

Under former Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann, Sabitzer has one goal and one assist to his name from 24 games this term, although he has started just seven Bundesliga matches.

Sabitzer could make his debut for Man United when they tackle Nottingham Forest in the second leg of their EFL Cup semi-final on Wednesday, but Saturday's Premier League clash with Crystal Palace is a more realistic date.
