Manchester United have joined Bayern Munich in the race to sign highly-rated Lazio attacking midfielder Felipe Anderson, according to reports.
The 22-year-old has impressed in Italy following a 2013 move from Santos, with the Brazilian thought to have a £57m buy-out clause written into his contract - which expires in 2020.
United boss Louis van Gaal reportedly baulked at those figures in the summer but, according to The Mirror, the Dutchman is prepared to offer £40m for the youngster.
Bayern are also said to be keen on Anderson, though the Bundesliga giants are believed to only value him at £35m, tipping the advantage in the Red Devils' favour.
