Manchester United have allegedly received a huge boost in their pursuit of Bayern Munich attacker Kingsley Coman after he rejected the world champions' offer of a new deal.
The France international has been tipped to complete a move to Old Trafford if the Red Devils' well-documented pursuit of Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho fails to bear fruit.
Coman is under contract at the Allianz Arena until the end of the 2022-23 campaign, but Bayern's attempts to tie him down to a new-and-improved offer have reportedly hit a stumbling block.
Indeed, German outlet Kicker claims that Bayern tabled an improvement on his current £140k-a-week deal to run until 2026, but Coman turned it down as he is seeking a much higher wage.
Man United would have no problem forking out the 24-year-old's desired salary should he decide to leave Bayern, with a recent report claiming that the Red Devils are willing to almost double his wages to £260k per week at Old Trafford.
Coman has scored six goals and set up 13 more in the 2020-21 campaign across all competitions, including three strikes and 10 assists from 19 Bundesliga appearances.
