Manchester United announce that they have tied midfield starlet Hannibal Mejbri down to a long-term deal at Old Trafford.

Manchester United have announced that they have agreed a long-term deal with midfield starlet Hannibal Mejbri.

The 18-year-old arrived in England from Monaco in the summer of 2019, and he has quickly risen through the ranks to join the Under-23s squad for the 2020-21 season.

Mejbri has taken no time at all to settle into Neil Wood's team, bagging three goals and five assists in 14 Premier League 2 appearances, as well as one goal and two assists from four EFL Trophy matches.

Now, the Red Devils have confirmed that the former France Under-17s international has penned a long-term contract at the club, just one month after fellow protege Shola Shoretire signed his first professional deal.

Shoretire and Amad Diallo have both been called for first-team action by Solskjaer this season, but a shoulder injury prevented Mejbri from turning out in the second leg of United's Europa League last-32 tie against Real Sociedad.

Mejbri started his career with Paris FC at the age of six in 2009, and he also rose through the academies of A.C.B.B and Monaco before securing a move to Old Trafford in a deal believed to be worth up to £8.5m.
