Chelsea have reportedly failed with an offer of £22m for Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey.
Blues head coach Antonio Conte has been forced to rotate his side for much of the season after failing to sign all of his targets in the summer, and it has led to the West Londoners being linked with new faces in the January transfer window.
Monaco attacker Thomas Lemar is allegedly a target for Chelsea but according to the Daily Mail, Conte has already failed with a bid for Bailey.
The 20-year-old signed for Leverkusen in January and although he has only made nine starts in the Bundesliga, he has been widely tipped to move on to a top European club in the future.
However, despite interest from Chelsea and Manchester United, Leverkusen remain keen on keeping the Jamaican wideman in Germany, with the player penning a contract until 2022.
