Barcelona are reportedly preparing to battle Liverpool for the signature of RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner during this summer's transfer window.
The European champions continue to be credited with an interest in the Germany international, who is believed to have a £52m release clause in his current deal.
The 24-year-old has been in impressive form at club level during the 2019-20 campaign, scoring 27 times and providing 12 assists in 36 appearances in all competitions.
Liverpool have long been regarded as the favourites for the centre-forward, but according to Mundo Deportivo, Barca are also in the hunt for the German's signature.
The report claims that the Spanish club's hopes of signing Inter Milan's Lautaro Martinez have been dashed as they cannot afford to sign the Argentina international.
Chelsea and Manchester United have also been credited with an interest in Werner.
