Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera is reportedly on the verge of signing a new contract with the club.
Herrera's current deal at Old Trafford is due to expire at the end of the season and he would have been free to discuss terms with foreign clubs from January had an extension not been agreed before next month.
However, The Times reports that the Spaniard has now agreed terms with the club after months of negotiations and will put pen to paper in the coming weeks.
Herrera is understood to have rejected the club's initial contract extension in order to hold out for a bigger pay rise, which they have now offered him.
The 29-year-old joined United in 2014 and has gone on to make 171 appearances across all competitions, scoring 18 goals and creating a further 25.
Juan Mata, Phil Jones, Ashley Young and Chris Smalling are also due to be out of contract at the end of the season.
