Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne warns his side against complacency, having moved 11 points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has warned his side to avoid allowing complacency to slip into their game after moving 11 points clear at the top of the Premier League table this afternoon.

City achieved a record-breaking 14th consecutive Premier League victory at the home of their closest challengers and fiercest rivals, with goals from David Silva and Nicolas Otamendi handing them a 2-1 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford today.

The result caps off another fine week for City in which Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal also dropped points, and De Bruyne acknowledged that his side are now in a very strong position.

"Lots of teams lost points this weekend so it is a big one for us. We have to enjoy it and then focus again for Wednesday," he told Sky Sports News.

"It is a big gap. If we slip up we are still in the lead. We can't be complacent. We need to do what we have all year. I prefer to be 11 points ahead than 11 points behind that's for sure."

City are back in action against Swansea City on Wednesday when they will look to become the first team to ever win 15 Premier League games on the bounce.
