Manchester United have reportedly informed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that he will be provided with time to succeed at Old Trafford.
Despite impressing during his time in caretaker charge, Solskjaer finds himself under pressure after his side struggled in the games immediately after he was handed a three-year contract.
United have spent in excess of £140m in the summer, which has effectively increased the stakes with United's officials and supporters demanding a return to the top four of the Premier League table.
However, according to the London Evening Standard, Solskjaer has been reassured that he will not lose his job if United make a slow start to the campaign.
The report adds that the club's hierarchy have acknowledged that the Norwegian will need at least two more transfer windows in order to re-mould the first-team squad.
