Jose Mourinho: Paul Pogba to play "some minutes" against Southampton

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho says that midfielder Paul Pogba will play "some minutes" during the Premier League clash with Southampton.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has said that midfielder Paul Pogba will make an appearance during the Premier League match with Southampton on Friday night.

Earlier this month, Pogba rejoined United for a world-record transfer fee but he was unable to make his second debut against Bournemouth last weekend due to suspension.

However, despite a lack of match practice, Mourinho has indicated that the French international will play "some minutes" for the club when they host the Saints at Old Trafford.

The Portuguese told MUTV: "We played against Leicester with players with less training than him and we saw that match as a way to improve them and accelerate the process.

"With Paul it's a bit the same – not one single minute of any pre-season match but almost two weeks of work with us, sometimes with the group, sometimes separately, and the condition is okay to play some minutes."

United go into the fixture sitting at the top of the league standings after their 3-1 victory over the Cherries last Sunday.
