The Football Association will take no further action against Manchester United or Manchester City after an alleged fracas after the derby on December 10.

The Football Association has decided to take no further action against either Manchester United or Manchester City after their alleged fracas in the aftermath of the derby on December 10.

After City had prevailed by a 2-1 scoreline at Old Trafford, United boss Jose Mourinho was said to be unhappy with the celebrations which were taking place in the away changing room.

A confrontation between both sets of players and staff allegedly took place, with City coach Mikel Arteta being left with a minor cut to his face.

However, after listening to various accounts of the incident from both clubs, the governing body has opted to hand out no punishment.

A statement read: "Following a review of the evidence provided by the clubs and independent eyewitnesses, the FA will be taking no formal action."

City currently hold an 11-point lead over United in the Premier League table.
