Louis van Gaal: 'My wife, kids have been affected'

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal asks the media whether they considered his family when they ran stories regarding the Dutchman's future at Old Trafford.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has claimed that his family have been affected by the recent speculation surrounding his future.

The Dutchman stormed out of his pre-match press conference on Wednesday, claiming that he deserved an apology from the media for the speculation that has dominated the back pages over the last couple of days.

Van Gaal, who reportedly has just two games to save his job, told reporters that his entire family have suffered along with him, and also commented on Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, who backed his fellow manager earlier this afternoon.

"What do you think that happens with my wife or with my kids? Or with my grandchildren? Or with the fans of Manchester United? Or with my friends? What do you think? They have called me, a lot of times, and also Arsene Wenger is saying something about that," blasted Van Gaal.

Man United will enter Saturday's Premier League clash with Stoke City on the back of a six-game winless run in all competitions.
