Andrei Kanchelskis has reportedly made it known that he would like to be next the manager of Derry City.
It was believed that caretaker boss Paul Hegarty would guide the team through the remainder of their League of Ireland Premier Division fixtures following the sacking of Peter Hutton last month.
However, that has not stopped 46-year-old Kanchelskis from handing in an application for the post, which was received by the Derry board yesterday, according to the Irish Mirror.
The former Manchester United winger has taken charge of three different clubs during his managerial career, the most recent of which was a four-month spell at the helm of Latvian side FC Jurmal in 2014.
As well as Man United, Kanchelskis also played for Everton, Rangers, Manchester City and Southampton prior to his retirement in 2006.
