Pep Guardiola 'never considered joining any club other than Manchester City'

Pep Guardiola reportedly did not consider any club other than Manchester City when he opted to leave Bayern Munich.

Pep Guardiola reportedly had no intention of speaking to any club other than Manchester City when deciding his next move.

The 45-year-old Spaniard, who will end a three-year spell in charge of Bayern Munich in the summer, has agreed to replace Manuel Pellegrini.

Despite City being the frontrunners to land Guardiola's signature, there were rumblings that the winning coach was keen on Manchester United, and Chelsea was also touted as a potential destination.

However, according to Sky Germany reporter Uli Kohler, Guardiola only had his eyes set on taking over at City and did not entertain the idea of discussing a move elsewhere.

City confirmed in a statement that they initially opened talks with the former Barcelona boss in 2012, shortly after he left his post at Camp Nou.

Guardiola has won 19 trophies during his eight years of management.
