Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville feels that David de Gea should have prevented Tottenham Hotspur's late equaliser at White Hart Lane.

Gary Neville has blamed David de Gea for costing Manchester United two points during their trip to Tottenham Hotspur earlier today.

Despite coming under a large amount of pressure from the home team, it looked as though Robin van Persie's first-half header was going to hand the league leaders all three points.

However, Spurs scored with their last attack of the encounter through Clint Dempsey, who turned in a cross from Aaron Lennon after De Gea had punched the ball towards the winger.

"You can't do that. They are big, big moments," he told Sky Sports News. "That punch there has cost his team."

The 1-1 draw has left United five points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.
