Jon Flanagan "can't wait" for Manchester United trip

Liverpool defender Jon Flanagan reveals that he "can't wait" for their trip to Manchester United on Sunday.

Liverpool defender Jon Flanagan has admitted that he "can't wait" for the trip to Manchester United on Sunday.

The Reds head to Old Trafford looking to close the gap on Chelsea at the top of the Premier League, and the young defender has talked up the importance of the fixture.

He told the Liverpool Echo: "It would be my first game against United for the first team and I can't wait for it.

"To walk out as part of a Liverpool side at Old Trafford, it doesn't get much bigger than this for a Scouser. It's a huge game and we all know what it means to the supporters.

"We're going there on the back of a great run and it's vitally important we keep it going. We can't afford to take our foot off the gas."

United trail the Reds by 11 points in the division.
