Sir Alex Ferguson's opposition to Jose Mourinho becoming Manchester United's next manager has reportedly waned over recent weeks.
It is believed that former boss Ferguson, along with fellow director Sir Bobby Charlton, had strong reservations about the Portuguese coach taking charge at Old Trafford.
Speculation claimed that, were the club to part company with Louis van Gaal, Ferguson and Charlton had been championing Ryan Giggs for the post.
However, United fanzine Red Issue stated last night that Ferguson was "now waving white flag" with regards to 53-year-old Mourinho's arrival.

Earlier today, a report said that Mourinho had rejected advances from Paris Saint-Germain because he believes that the United job is guaranteed.
