Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas praises his team for their "desire and ambition" in their 3-2 win at Manchester United on Saturday.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has described his side's performance against Manchester United on Saturday as "outstanding".

Spurs defeated the Red Devils 3-2 at Old Trafford in the Premier League, thanks to goals from Jan Vertonghen, Gareth Bale and Clint Dempsey.

"We were outstanding in the first and second half, but in different ways," he said on the club's official website.

"The first in our offensive football and attack-minded work, in the second in how defensively disciplined and concentrated we were to get the result we wanted.

"It was a game almost of two halves, but where the desire and ambition remained the same from first to second. It's a night of great happiness for everyone and everyone feels inspired by the result."

Tottenham are currently fifth in the league table with 11 points from six matches, five points behind leaders Chelsea.
