Sweden boss Janne Andersson admits that it is "frustrating" to see Victor Lindelof spend time on the substitutes' bench at Manchester United.

Sweden boss Janne Andersson has said that he is hopeful of Victor Lindelof being given more playing time at Manchester United.

Since moving to Old Trafford in the summer, Lindelof has been limited to appearances in the Champions League, European Super Cup and EFL Cup, with the centre-back yet to be handed his debut in the Premier League.

The 23-year-old remains a key part of Andersson's plans, but the national team manager has acknowledged that it is "frustrating" to see the former Benfica man struggle to make an impact at his new club.

Andersson told P5 Sthlm: "It's a frustrating thing in this job, I cannot influence anything.

"It is clear that over time, I want all our players to play as much as possible, at as high a level as possible.

"So over time it's a little unfortunate, but we'll see, he has played some matches. We hope that he will be even closer to the team."

Lindelof could feature when United face CSKA Moscow in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
