Radamel Falcao to miss Arsenal visit

Louis van Gaal reveals that Radamel Falcao is likely to miss Manchester United's trip to Arsenal on November 22.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is not expecting Radamel Falcao to be fit for the visit to Arsenal after the international break.

The Colombian hitman has missed United's last three games with a calf complaint, one of several high-profile names on the Red Devils' injury list.

Defenders Phil Jones, Jonny Evans and Rafael have also been absent in recent weeks and, when asked if any of them could start the clash at the Emirates on Saturday week, Van Gaal told reporters: "No, I don't think so because now some of them have already not played for five, six, seven weeks.

"They could sit on the bench because they can play 20 minutes but I cannot put a lot of players who are not 100% fit on the bench.

"You saw what happened with [Paddy] McNair [getting cramp against Crystal Palace] because the rhythm of the game is very high in the Premier League."

The 28-year-old striker has scored just once since securing a deadline-day loan switch to Old Trafford from AS Monaco.
