A groin injury keeps Wayne Rooney out of Manchester United's FA Cup clash at Chelsea.

Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that Wayne Rooney has not been included in the Manchester United squad to face Chelsea this afternoon because of a groin injury.

It had been somewhat of a surprise when the teams for the FA Cup quarter-final replay were announced earlier today without Rooney's name among the United lineup.

However, the United manager has since revealed that the striker picked up a knock while on international duty with England last week.

Ferguson went on to say that the 27-year-old should be fit for next Monday's Manchester derby at Old Trafford.
