Manchester City have announced that defender Martin Demichelis has put pen to paper on a contract extension that will run until the summer of 2016.
The Argentine has spent almost two years at the Etihad Stadium following his move from Atletico Madrid, and is currently jostling with Eliaquim Mangala and Vincent Kompany for a starting spot.
As he closes in on his second full season for the reigning Premier League champions, Demichelis has opted to extend his time at the North-West outfit further.
"I want to say that I am really proud and happy to have extended my contract for another year," Demichelis told the club's official website.
"Manchester City is a club with a lot of ambition. We want to grow every year. When you get to hold a trophy, it's the best feeling for any player.
"I want to say that I will fight for this club and for my teammates until the end of my contract. I will fight to try and win titles."
The 34-year-old defender has made 30 appearances in all competitions for City this season.
