Neil Warnock slams Samir Nasri

Neil Warnock points the finger at Samir Nasri for not blocking Robin van Persie's winning goal at the Etihad last Sunday.

Leeds United manager Neil Warnock has become the latest football figure to slam Samir Nasri for his performance in last weekend's Manchester derby.

Nasri drew widespread criticism for his part in Manchester United's winner at the Etihad.

The French international turned away in the wall for Robin van Persie's free-kick winner, a decision Warnock believes that cost City the match.

He told The Independent: "If Nasri stands tall, the worst that can happen is he gets hit with the ball and City come away with a point.

"It beggars belief to see somebody get out of the way of the ball like that. I'd have been distraught and furious.

"It happens three or four times a season at the top level and it is scandalous."

City trail their local rivals by six points at the top of the Premier League following last weekend's derby defeat.
