Manchester City's Vincent Kompany: 'Lessons can be learned from FA Cup exit'

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany insists that he and his teammates will learn from their FA Cup exit to Wigan Athletic.

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has insisted that he and his teammates can learn from Sunday's FA Cup exit.

The former Premier League champions were booted out of the tournament at the quarter-final stage in a 2-1 defeat to Wigan Athletic.

The result at the Etihad Stadium followed a similar situation last season, which resulted in Wigan taking home the FA Cup by beating City in the final at Wembley.

Following the defeat, Kompany, who was rested for Sunday's match, wrote on Twitter: "If any lessons have to be learned, it's that anything is possible in football and that's not unimportant considering the task that's ahead."

City are currently fourth in the Premier League table and will try to overturn a 2-0 deficit against Barcelona in the last-16 of the Champions League this week.
