Danilo reveals that the Manchester City players are looking forward to an "important" period of rest following their 1-1 Premier League draw at Burnley.

Danilo has praised Pep Guardiola's decision to give Manchester City's players a period of rest following their 1-1 draw at Burnley.

The Brazilian opened the scoring at Turf Moor on Saturday but Johann Berg Gudmundsson struck a late equaliser as the spoils were shared, despite the Citizens' dominance.

The Premier League leaders are not back in action until Leicester City's visit to the Etihad Stadium next Saturday, with the City players not having to report for training until Wednesday afternoon.

"It is very important. It is a very intense competition, having games every two or three days. We know how difficult and demanding it is," Danilo is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying.

"It is very important to rest our bodies and clear our minds and come back to prepare for the next game fresh and relaxed."

City currently sit 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
