Team News: Phil Foden, Bernardo Silva start for Manchester City

Pep Guardiola hands starts to Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva for Manchester City's trip to Shakhtar Donetsk.

Pep Guardiola has handed starts to Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva for Manchester City's trip to Shakhtar Donetsk tonight in their final group game of the Champions League.

With qualification already well assured, Guardiola makes six changes from the side that defeated West Ham United on Sunday as he prepares for a crunch Manchester derby this weekend.

Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero drop to the bench in the Ukraine tonight, with Bernardo and Gabriel Jesus earning recalls alongside Leroy Sane in the front line.

Kevin De Bruyne is suspended for the game, while David Silva has not travelled due to a mystery injury and Fabian Delph, meaning an all-new midfield for City. England under-17s World Cup winner Foden is duly rewarded with his first start alongside Yaya Toure and Ilkay Gundogan.

There is also a start for youngster Tosin Adrabioyo and a recall for Fernandinho in the back four alongside Danilo and Eliaquim Mangala, with Kyle Walker and Nicolas Otamendi dropping to the bench.

Ederson as usual takes up position between the posts.

For the hosts, Paulo Fonseca makes just two changes from the side that triumphed 2-0 over Veres Rivne on Saturday, with Argentine striker Facundo Ferreyra again leading the line.

Marlos - in for Viktor Kovalenko - joins Brazilian duo Taison Bernard in attacking support, with Fred and Taras Stepanenko partnered in front of the back four.

The other change comes on the right of the defence, with fit-again Bohdan Butko replacing Ivan Petryak alongside Ivan Ordets, Yaroslav Rakitskiy and Ismaily. Andriy Pyatov remains in goal.

Shakhtar Donetsk: Pyatov; Butko, Ordets, Rakitskiy, Ismaily; Fred, Stepanenko; Taison, Marlos, Bernard; Ferreyra
Subs: Shevchenko, Khocholava, Azevedo, Dentinho, Patrick, Petryak, Kovalenko

Manchester City: Ederson; Danilo, Mangala, Adarabioyo, Fernandinho; Foden, Yaya Toure, Gundogan; Bernardo, Sane, G Jesus
Subs: Bravo, Walker, Sterling, Aguero, Otamendi, Duhaney, Diaz
