Cesc Fabregas calls for Barcelona "control"

Cesc Fabregas calls on Barcelona to "control" the second leg of their last-16 Champions League clash with Manchester City on Wednesday.

Cesc Fabregas has insisted that Barcelona need to "control" the second leg of their last-16 Champions League clash with Manchester City on Wednesday.

The Spanish champions enter the match as the favourites to advance into the quarter-finals following a 2-0 win in Manchester last month.

"We have to control the game well. We can't make it a game of attack and defence every five minutes because that's to their benefit," he told UEFA's official website.

"We have to control the game, keep the ball, and create opportunities as well as finish them off, and not let City counter."

Barcelona head into the match on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Real Valladolid in La Liga.
