Livingston held by Alloa Athletic

Livingston and Alloa Athletic play out a goalless draw in their Scottish Championship clash at Almondvale.

Livingston remain rooted to the bottom of the Scottish Championship, despite earning a goalless draw against fellow strugglers Alloa Athletic this evening.

Ryan McCord threatened early on with a long-range effort that was saved by the keeper.

The hosts came close again when Daniel Mullen raced through on goal, before seeing his effort kept out by Craig McDowall.

Livingston soon created further chances as Keaghan Jacobs fired over the bar, before Burton O'Brien saw his free kick stopped.

Kyle Benedictus then had Alloa's best chance of the match when his header was saved by Darren Jamieson.

With two minutes of the first half remaining Livingston came within inches of taking the lead, as O'Brien's deflected effort came back off the post.

Both teams continued to create chances after the break, with Liam Buchanan and Jordan White seeing shots saved in quick succession.

In the closing stages Jason Talbot put a header over the bar and it proved to be the final chance of the match as the game finished on level terms.
