Liverpool reportedly have no intention of pursuing a January deal for Fulham's Antonee Robinson despite injuries to Kostas Tsimikas and Andrew Robertson.

Liverpool reportedly have no plans to push ahead with a January move for Fulham left-back Antonee Robinson.

The Reds have lost both of their senior left-back options in Andrew Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas to serious injuries since the start of October, forcing Joe Gomez to switch flanks in order to provide cover.

Robertson has spent a couple of months in the infirmary due to a dislocated shoulder sustained on international duty with Scotland in October, and Jurgen Klopp may be forced to work around his absence until February.

Meanwhile, Tsimikas was involved in a collision with Klopp during last weekend's 1-1 draw with Arsenal, where he was out-muscled by Bukayo Saka and clattered into the German inside his technical area.

Tsimikas sustained a collarbone fracture in the unfortunate incident, which will also rule Robertson's chief backup option out for an extended period of time, and Klopp has expressed concern about the burden on Gomez, who has endured a woeful time with injuries in the past.

Aside from Gomez, Klopp can dip into Liverpool's academy ranks to reinforce his left side with Calum Scanlon and Luke Chambers, both of whom have earned first-team minutes in this season's Europa League.

However, given the teenagers' lack of Premier League nous, Liverpool have been tipped to sign an experienced left-back midway through the season and had apparently identified Robinson as a potential target.

The Reds are said to have made an enquiry over a potential move for the USA international, but according to The Mirror, Liverpool have no intention of trying to prise Robinson away from Craven Cottage.

Robinson plied his trade in the youth academy of Liverpool's bitter rivals Everton, whom he joined in 2008 but failed to make a single senior appearance for, also being loaned out to Bolton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic.

In the summer of 2020, Wigan sold Robinson to Fulham for a paltry £1.8m, and the 26-year-old has established himself as a respected Premier League left-back at Craven Cottage, making 128 appearances for the Cottagers.

Robinson has come up with three goals and nine assists in 128 outings for Fulham, setting up three goals in three successive Premier League games this season against Aston Villa, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Liverpool.

At one stage, Manchester City were said to have been interested in a deal for the USA man - who played every minute for his nation at the 2022 World Cup - but Fulham warded off the treble winners by tying Robinson down to a new deal until 2028 this summer.

The West London outfit are therefore under no pressure to sell the defender in the near future, and Liverpool would be quoted a premium figure if they did end up deciding to pursue a January transfer.

With a move for Robinson off the cards, Liverpool are said to have taken a liking to Fluminense's Nino, although the 26-year-old is more comfortable in the heart of defence than as a left-back.
