Liverpool are plotting a shock swoop for Napoli striker Edinson Cavani.
Reds boss Kenny Dalglish will hope that the Uruguayan can take some of the pressure off goal-shy Andy Carroll, according to Caughtoffside.com.
Cavani would also be expected to fill in for his fellow countryman Luis Suarez, who is currently serving an eight-match ban for racially abusing Manchester United defender Patrice Evra.
However, Napoli's £30m asking price may prove too steep for the Merseyside club.
Cavani has scored 11 goals in 17 Serie A appearances this season.
