Liverpool are reportedly considering a move for Lille midfielder Renato Sanches.
The 23-year-old was a highly-rated youngster at Benfica but found it difficult to settle at Bayern Munich after a move to the Bundesliga giants in 2016.
Sanches spent the 2017-18 campaign on loan with Swansea City in the Premier League, but the Portugal international struggled to make his mark for the Welsh club.
The midfielder has rediscovered his form at Lille, though, and has started the 2020-21 season in impressive form, contributing one goal in 10 appearances for the Ligue 1 side.
According to Le 10 Sport, Liverpool are weighing up Sanches as a possible replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum, who has still not signed a new deal with the Premier League champions.
Wijnaldum, who is close to entering the final six months of his contract at Anfield, could be on his way out of the Merseyside club during the January transfer window, with Barcelona said to be admirers.
